Volterra, in the province of Pisa, is a unique city. It occupies an elevated position (550 meters above sea level) and offers wonderful views, overlooking the Cecina Valley.

As we walk through the streets, we will discover its history: the Etruscan Foundations, the Roman Theatre, the medieval churches, the Renaissance palaces and various museums. Probably the most famous are the Etruscan Museum and the Pinacoteca Civica, which also exhibits works by Rosso Fiorentino. Volterra is also very well known for its alabaster workshops. It has a museum dedicated to this heritage of ancient skills of artistic endeavor.
